Sponsoring Story Street: Supporting families for a third year in a row

Children and families across Newham will have greater access to free creative activities this summer thanks to support from our Stratford office for a third consecutive year. 

We are proud to sponsor Story Street, a community initiative delivered by Discover Children’s Story Centre that transforms an underused back street into a vibrant outdoor space filled with storytelling. 

Supporting children and families across Newham 

As part of our sponsorship, funding will contribute towards volunteer training and management, as well as providing 100 free tickets for local families to enjoy the experience during the school holidays this summer.  

Free tickets to Story Street will be distributed to Newham families through local charities, community groups and food banks, helping ensure that more children can enjoy creative experiences regardless of circumstance. 

Supporting a leading children’s charity in Stratford 

Based in Stratford, Discover Children’s Story Centre is the UK’s first children’s story centre and welcomes around 125,000 visitors each year. The charity is dedicated to inspiring curiosity, creativity and imagination through storytelling, play and learning experiences for children aged 0-11 and their families.  

The organisation works within one of the UK’s most diverse communities and is committed to making creative opportunities accessible to all children, regardless of background or circumstance. 

A summer of imagination 

Returning this August, Story Street x the LEGO Group has been designed around the theme of encouraging children and families to “come out to play”. 

Visitors can enjoy a daily programme of activities including building with LEGO® bricks, painting, yoga, dress-up play, crafts, music and interactive performances, creating opportunities for children to explore, create and learn through play. 

Building on the success of last year’s event, the team has worked together to create a space that is even more fun and even more accessible, with inclusion at the heart of the experience.
