Kacper Pilarski

What made you apply for this role?

I knew I wanted to get into accounting, and I really liked what I saw from LB. They place a big focus on a cooperative and supportive atmosphere, and the fact they offer all sorts of career and skills training was a big plus.

Tell us about your first day.

I was very nervous, obviously, but Clare from HR immediately talked me through what I needed to know, showed me around the office, and introduced me to everyone. It was helpful to break the ice with the team.

I had plenty of training on the specific software and got involved with some client work, too, with a colleague there talking me through and helping me understand what to look for and how to move things along.

Has the job met your expectations so far?

I expected to like it, and I do! I have learned a lot so far, and the job has allowed me to use my head and draw on the experience I am gaining all the time. It’s just the kind of continuous learning process that I was looking for.

What are your plans going forward?

Firstly, I want to learn as much as I can in the role and build up my skills. Then, I’ll focus on gaining my qualifications before moving up in the company. I have heard from Directors and some of my colleagues who have all progressed through the ranks, so it’s great to know there’s real opportunity here for progression.

The next step in your career

If you want to take the next step in your accountancy career with us, our HR department will contact you regarding all the HR formalities – all the things you need to onboard with us. We will then stay in contact with you all the way through to your first day!

You will be met by your Manager and introduced to your mentor who will have been with the business for approx. a year, so will understand how you might be feeling. HR will also be present to help settle you in and support you in your induction.

The interview process

Stage 1. At this stage, you will likely meet with one of our HR team; they will tell you everything you need to know about the business – where we have come from and where we are heading – and, importantly, how we can help support your career path.

Stage 2. We might ask you to undertake a short skills assessment, depending on the role. This helps us identify any training or support we might need to consider if you join us.

Stage 3. We like everyone to meet their Manager and one of our senior leadership team members at this stage. We will arrange for you to meet your team and visit your office location.
