It was a pleasure to be part of World Cup‑on‑Sea, supporting the British Heart Foundation and the incredible work they do. The day also gave us the chance to spend time in person with colleagues we usually work with remotely and reconnect with familiar faces across different industries.
World Cup-on-Sea 2026: Showing our support for British Heart Foundation
On Saturday 9th May, we participated in the annual World Cup‑on‑Sea tournament in Southend, raising vital funds for the British Heart Foundation.
The event brought together businesses, charities and community groups for a day of friendly competition, teamwork and positive community impact. This year, we were proud to step onto the pitch and champion a charity whose work touches millions of lives across the UK.
We are proud of our team for taking part in this tournament and raising funds for an important cause along the way. Congratulations to team UHY for taking home the crown.
Supporting the British Heart Foundation
Heart and circulatory diseases affect people and families everywhere. The British Heart Foundation is the UK’s leading charity funding research into these conditions, driving medical breakthroughs and helping communities feel prepared to act in an emergency.
Taking part in the World Cup‑on‑Sea is one way we can support their mission while strengthening our own community connections.
Why World Cup-on-Sea was created
The World Cup‑on‑Sea was established by AJ Chambers as a fundraising initiative built on the power of sport and local collaboration. The idea was simple: bring together organisations of all sizes, create a brilliant community event and raise money for causes that genuinely matter.
Since its launch, the tournament has grown into a much-loved fixture in the Southend calendar, attracting teams from across the region and raising significant funds for selected charities. This year, all participating teams are supporting the British Heart Foundation.
We are proud to be part of an event that celebrates teamwork, community and positive impact.
How we supported the British Heart Foundation
In May, colleagues across Affinia took part in a fundraising day to support the British Heart Foundation. The day was a great opportunity to raise awareness, strengthen our sense of community and support the vital research and services the charity provide.
Our fundraising day included, a Wear Red day, bake sale, and CPR training using RevivR, the British Heart Foundation’s interactive tool. From doughnuts and cakes to a lunchtime learning a life saving skill, colleagues from across our offices had an amazing day learning about the hard work the British Heart Foundation do.
We are proud to share we have raised over £800 and would like to thank our colleagues for their hard work in supporting life saving research.
