From the office to the finish line: Supporting Breast Cancer Now

6 May 2026

This April, our Sidcup Main Road team came together in pink to raise awareness for Breast Cancer Now, the UK’s leading breast cancer charity, dedicated to world‑class research and life‑changing care.

At the beginning of the month, our social committee hosted a lunchtime gathering to celebrate strength, resilience and solidarity, while showing continued support for colleague Jackie Wint, who has recently rung the bell to mark the end of her breast cancer treatment. The team proudly wore pink clothing and ribbons, with the office décor reflecting the occasion and reinforcing our collective show of support

Our support for Breast Cancer Now didn’t stop there. In a powerful personal tribute, Mia Dore took on the London Landmarks Half Marathon in memory of her nan.

Starting at Downing Street and weaving past iconic sights including Tower Bridge, Monument and St Paul’s Cathedral before finishing at Trafalgar Square, Mia completed an incredible challenge while raising vital funds for the charity.

“I would like to thank everyone for the support I received through my breast cancer journey; my colleagues have been amazing throughout. After starting my journey in October 2024 and going through 18 months of chemo, I have finally rung the bell. Breast Cancer Now is one of the many charities that has helped me through my journey. A special thank you to Mia Dore for supporting Breast Cancer Now: well done! One thing I must ask you all is to check those boobs- men too. If I didn’t, I would no longer be here. Life is so precious.”

“I had the best time running the London Landmarks Half Marathon in memory of my beautiful nan and raising money for Breast Cancer Now. Breast Cancer Now has a bold vision that by 2050 everyone with breast cancer will live and live well! Let’s beat breast cancer together.”
