Celebrating one year of Affinia: How we've supported our communities

As we finish our one year celebrations, we want to reflect on the impact we have made on our local communities. 

Over the past year, we’ve strengthened partnerships, supported initiatives that help neighbourhoods thrive, and worked closely with the people and organisations that make our communities unique. We’re proud of the positive difference these efforts have created and excited to build on this momentum in the year ahead.

Take a look below at just some of the ways we have impacted our communities:

Leigh-on-Sea fundraiser

In June 2025, our Leigh-on-Sea office, formerly known as Platt Rushton, hosted their Annual Charity Day raising over £1,150 for Blood Cancer UK. The team at Leigh-on-Sea began their annual fundraiser in April 2023 in memory of Platt Rushton founding partner, Michael Hallybone, who passed away in February 2023 due to Leukaemia.

Last year’s fundraiser saw the team take part in a walking or cycling route across Leigh-on-Sea. Walkers could choose from a 5.5 or 13 mile route, and cyclists embarked on a 26.2 mile route, breaking halfway through for lunch.

After 3 years of their Annual Charity Day, the team at Leigh-on-Sea have raised nearly £8,000.

Stowmarket FC

After being appointed as Vice Chair of Stowmarket Town Football Club, Tom Butterworth, Head of Property Tax, helped launch the ‘Stow Town FC One Pint Challenge’ to support the club through a significant financial challenge.

We were proud to be the first large regional business to support this campaign, demonstrating our support for the community and the young players it nurtures.

High Performance Foundation

In November 2025 we were the lead sponsor of ‘An Evening with Jake Humphrey’, in support of the High Performance Foundation.

The High Performance Foundation, co-founded by Jake Humphrey and Chloe Dannatt, is dedicated to empowering young people from underrepresented backgrounds with the mindset and skills they need to thrive.

Festive Foodbank Fundraiser

Over the festive period, our offices hosted Festive Foodbank drives to support families in need across our local communities.

The fundraiser was introduced by Spencer Clewley, Accounts Associate Director in Orpington, who has run foodbank drives in the office for a number of years.

We are so proud of the Affinia teams coming together to donate over 5,000 offices to foodbanks across London, East Anglia and South East England. Our top three donating offices were Orpington, Leigh-on-Sea and Ipswich – contributing over 2,200 items between them alone!

We have achieved so much to support our local communities. Many more include: 

Affinia Colchester Easter egg donations | Affinia

Our Colchester office donated over 80 eggs to Emmaus, a charity that supports children’s homes, children’s groups and children’s charities in the Colchester area.

To celebrate the Red Nose Day’s 40th anniversary, our Ipswich office held a bale sale and raised a remarkable £85.

Affinia Chelmsford takes part in Football Shirt Friday | Affinia

In April 2025, our Chelmsford office took part in Football Shirt Day, raising £75 for the Bobby Moore Fund, part of Cancer Research UK.

Affinia football stars | Affinia

Two teams from our Colchester and Ipswich offices competed in Rutherford Briant’s annual Charity Football Festival in support for Stroke Association. As well as helping to raise over £2,000, our Colchester team walked away with gold medals.

Affinia Ipswich golf stars | Affinia

A team from our Ipswich office won a charity networking golf tournament, hosted by Credo Capital Finance, which raised over £1,100 for Riding for the Disabled Association (RDA) and You Are Not Alone (YANA).

Affinia Stratford football stars | Affinia

A team from our Stratford office took part in the Business Fives Charity Football Tournament, playing to raise funds for Discover Children’s Story Centre.

Together, they raised over £200.
