Chelmsford team shows strong commitment at Race 4 Business
Our Chelmsford team laced up their running shoes and took on this year’s Race 4 Business, joining hundreds of local professionals for an evening of fitness and fundraising in support of Havens Hospices.
Held in the picturesque surroundings of Central Park and Admirals Park, the annual 5k event brings together businesses from across the region to support a fantastic cause while promoting health, wellbeing and team spirit. The chip-timed course, which meanders through the parks before finishing at the event village, is designed to be accessible to all abilities, allowing participants to walk, jog or run at their own pace.
Commitment on display
This year’s event presented an unexpected challenge before the race had even begun: it took place on the same evening as a highly anticipated England football match!
Despite the temptation to head straight home or settle in front of the television, the Chelmsford team turned out in force, with 17 colleagues taking part.
The impressive attendance highlighted the team’s commitment not only to supporting Havens Hospices, but also to embracing opportunities that promote wellbeing, teamwork and community engagement. The atmosphere throughout the evening was fantastic, with colleagues encouraging one another from the start line to the finish.

Special congratulations go to Danny Wilson, who achieved an outstanding top-20 finish with a time of just 20 minutes and 55 seconds, leading the way for the Chelmsford team.
More than just a race
While the results were impressive, the Race for Business is about much more than finishing times. The event provides an opportunity for colleagues to connect outside the workplace, challenge themselves personally and support an important local charity.
Havens Hospices provides specialist care and support for people of all ages living with incurable conditions, as well as their families. Events such as the Race for Business play a vital role in helping the charity continue delivering its essential services across the local community.
The evening was a great success for the Chelmsford team, combining healthy competition, camaraderie and charitable giving. Whether pushing for a personal best, completing their first organised 5k or simply showing up to support the cause, every participant played an important part in making the event memorable.
