As part of our career series for National Careers Week (which runs from 3^rd to 8^th March) we’re sharing Olly’s story of how he recently became an ICAEW chartered accountant and progressed from a trainee to a management role, with the support Affinia offers to those who are studying. 

Olly Sharman | From Trainee to Management

“I joined Affinia as a trainee accountant, eager to learn and take on the challenge of completing both the AAT and ACA exam qualifications. The exams were demanding and intense, however the support I received from Affinia played a huge part in helping me achieve my goal of becoming am ICAEW Chartered Accountant.  

I received full financial support via the government backed Apprenticeship Scheme for my exams and courses, which allowed me to focus on my studies without the added pressure of costs. Affinia also supports us with study leave ahead of exams, ensuring I could balance both work and exam preparation effectively. 

As part of the training programme, I had access to valuable tuition support and resources, which helped me feel well-prepared for each exam.
