Affinia supports NHS Charities Together with a £51,000

9 May 2025

This Spring marked five years since the nation went into its first COVID-19 lockdown. Many have reflected on the loved ones we lost and the impact it has had on them, their families and communities, remembering them at events, such as the Covid Memorial Wall on London’s Embankment and NHS Charities Together’s Day of Reflection at the National Memorial Arboretum.

To show our thanks and support to the NHS, and the relentless commitment from their staff to support our local communities, we are pleased to be able to support NHS Charities Together with a contribution of £51,000.

NHS Charities Together work with a network of over 230 NHS charities across the UK, helping the NHS to thrive and making sure everyone can get the healthcare they deserve. They work together to deliver funds where they’re needed most by supporting NHS staff, patients and local communities.

Darren Redmayne, CEO of Affinia, said: “The crisis had a profound effect on all our clients, colleagues and communities. Thankfully, five years on, we look forward together and are pleased to be donating £51,000 to NHS Charities Together[EF1] , being money we’ve collected to support their continued great work and to respect this important milestone.”

Louise McCathie, Director of Fundraising at NHS Charities Together, said: “We want to say a huge and heartfelt thank you to Affinia for their generous donation. Although it’s now been five years since the UK went into lockdown, pressure on our hardworking NHS staff is relentless, as they deal with rising patient numbers, an ageing population and staff shortages. We’re investing in services and initiatives to promote workforce wellbeing, improve patient care and empower communities to live well. Together, we can help the NHS to thrive and make sure everyone can get the healthcare they deserve”.
