Purpose of the role:
Affinia is currently seeking a high calibre, dynamic and energetic individual to join the firm as Associate Director within our Corporate Finance team, delivering a combination of service and project support to external clients and to senior internal stakeholders, including the group C-suite and the Corporate Development team. This is an exciting opportunity which offers the chance to make a real impact on the future of the Affinia group as we continue our growth journey. The role will involve working closely in a strong team on a range of external clients and exciting projects, collaborating with different teams and locations across the firm to drive forward business growth.

Accountabilities:
You will be required to own and manage a varied set of deliverables across external client assignments and business development including: 

  • Managing multiple sector agnostic SME deals, generally £5m-50m EV mandates acting in sell side, buy side and capital raising capacity, for clients comprising owner manager businesses and Private Equity funds
  • Project managing transactions and managing junior team members to ensure deal processes and transaction documents are fulfilled, including drafting marketing materials (Investment Memorandum, Management Presentations etc), detailed research on companies, identifying potential investors/buyers 
  • Ability to own completion deliverables including Locked Box, Completion Accounts, Funds Flow
  • Strong financial modelling skills (financial forecasts, DCFs, LBOs)
  • Lead discussions with external and internal stakeholders in respect of overall transaction and workstream status, action tracking, risks, issues, dependencies and budget reporting
  • Co-ordination of diligence, data room and information requests and project managing transactions

Being active in the market to generate business development opportunities with potential clients and network.

Skills/Qualifications: 

The ideal individual will be experienced and accomplished in M&A transactions, deal execution, integration and other aspect of Corporate Finance, Deal Advisory and M&A work. They will  possess strong interpersonal and communication skills with a genuine desire to contribute to the strategic direction and success of the Affinia group. They must also possess:

  • A strong deal sheet, with successful closed projects over 5+ years
  • Experience of working in, and being a key contributor for a high preforming team in Big 4, IB or CF Boutique
  • An industry relevant qualification e.g. ACA. However, exceptions can be made for candidates with solid experience
