Employment Tax Director

John specialises in employment taxes and before joining Affinia in 2026, worked with regional and national firms as well as spending time with HMRC in their Large Business Directorate.

This combination of experience gives him great insight into the issues facing clients of all sizes and sectors who he supports in their dealings with HMRC, when looking to manage their compliance obligations, and when researching opportunities for tax and NIC efficiencies.

John is a long standing member of the Chartered Institute of Taxation.

Outside of tax, John can often be found playing chess (not very well), enjoying a glass of wine with family and friends (somewhat better) and, when the opportunity arises, enjoying the French countryside.
